FORT WORTH, Texas (July 14, 2025) – Speedway Children’s Charities-Texas is aiding in the relief efforts for those affected by the recent Texas Hill Country floods by hosting a Drive-In Movie Night featuring this summer’s live-action blockbuster “How to Train Your Dragon” on Friday at Texas Motor Speedway. Donate here.

Big Hoss, the largest single LED screen of any sports facility in North America, will show “How to Train Your Dragon” from Universal Pictures and DreamWorks beginning at 8 p.m. in the infield of the Fort Worth-based motorsports venue.

Admission will be a minimum donation of $20 per carload and movie fans can access the infield through the speedway’s South Tunnel off Hwy. 114 beginning at 7 p.m. SCC will be accepting cash, credit card on movie night or sign up in advance here.

Universal Pictures has partnered with Speedway Children’s Charities-Texas by donating the movie— starring 18-year-old Dallas native Mason Thames as heroic young Viking Hiccup—as well as donating rights fees for this one-time charitable event. MAP360 Collective and GoVision also have joined Universal in SCC’s effort, allowing for all the proceeds to be used for the relief efforts following the devastating flash flooding in central Texas over the Fourth of July weekend that left more than 132 dead and 160 still missing.

The proceeds are earmarked for the Community Foundation of Hill Country, one of the primary organizations leading the relief efforts, with a focus on supporting children and their families affected by this tragedy.

For those unfamiliar with Speedway Children's Charities at Texas Motor Speedway, the organization has distributed more than $12.4 million in funding to non-profit organizations supporting children in need in Collin, Dallas, Denton, and Tarrant counties since 1997. Distributed funds are raised through special events throughout each year.

“The recent floods have left a heartbreaking path of destruction across central Texas, and our continued thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected,” SCC-Texas Executive Director Marissa Chaney said. “This benefit drive-in movie night will be more than just a night out – it is a way for our community to come together with purpose. Thanks to our partners and speedway staff volunteering to assist with the event, every dollar raised will go directly to the flood relief efforts. We hope families and neighbors from all over will join us to show what it truly means to stand Texas strong.”
