HOMESTEAD, Fla. (Nov. 7, 2026) – Willow Park native Kaden Honeycutt captured his first career NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series championship Friday night, regaining the lead in the final 13 laps of the season finale en route to a victory at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
With the win, Honeycutt becomes the second Texan to earn the CRAFTSMAN Truck Series Championship, joining 2012 champion and Plano native James Buescher.
Honeycutt edged past runner-up Christian Eckes by 1.038 seconds to secure his fifth win of the year and his first at the 1.5-mile Homestead. The driver of the No. 11 Toyota for Tricon Garage finished the year with 2,471 points, 16 top-five and 19 top-10 finishes.
“Man, this is for all the dirt track racers back at home in Texas that I raced with when I was 12 years old all the way until 17,” said Honeycutt in Victory Lane. “I worked with my daddy in the shop for so dang long to even be in the dirt track business running Friday and Saturday, running a stockcar, running a modified, anything I could hop in.
Man, this is amazing. I’ve worked so damn hard to be here. Thank you to every owner, thank you everybody that’s let me drive the race car for them, whether it was dirt, asphalt, road course, doesn’t matter. That is because of you guys I’m sitting right here with this group behind me as champions. I’m so out of breath, I wish I could talk harder.
Thank you, fans, for showing up. We just won Homestead and the damn championship.”
Honeycutt will return to his home track, Texas Motor Speedway, Friday, April 30, for the SpeedyCash.com 250. Individual race tickets and weekend packages, along with camping options, are available now by visiting texasmotorspeedway.com or calling the TMS ticket office at (817) 215-8500.
