It is recommended to use the South Tunnel for traveling in and out of the infield. To access the South Tunnel, enter the speedway from Hwy 114 at Allison Avenue or Labonte Avenue, then turn left on Victory Circle and then right on Allison Avenue. To access the North Tunnel, enter the speedway on Mark Martin Drive and proceed to Lone Star Circle.
Texas Motor Speedway accepts credential requests from accredited working members of the media via online application only. Visit www.smicredentials.com to apply for credentials for Texas Motor Speedway events, as well as those at other SMI-owned speedways. For first-time media and PR representatives visiting the credential site, please note that this is a two-step process.
First, you will need to create an account and then be approved for access to the site. If site access is approved, you must return to the site to apply for your credentials under the Texas Motor Speedway link. Please note that if you do not return to the site, you will not have any credentials or parking for the event. For media and public relations representatives who have attended previous races at Speedway Motorsports venues, use your email log-in and password to gain access to the site. There is a “Forgot Your Password?” link on the landing page if required. Once in the site, locate the Texas Motor Speedway venue link to apply. Written, fax, or email requests will not be accepted.
Credentials and parking can be picked up at the speedway credential office, which is located between the lake and dirt track on property (3601 Victory Circle). The most common media access credentials are “RWC” (Race Weekend Credential), “MCA” (Media Center Access), “EGP” (Essential Garage Pass) and “PRA” (Pre-Race Access). Garage passes are required for access to any of the NASCAR national series garages. Respective series hard cards will be honored in both garages as well.

Packages shipped to the Texas Motor Speedway address can be picked up at the Texas Motor Speedway Warehouse located just outside the North Tunnel, to your left when exiting the tunnel.
Each media member with deadline room access will be assigned a seat. Each seat will be clearly marked with a name tag. Check in with the front desk to locate your seat. Please do not move seats without permission from the Texas Motor Speedway staff.
Members of the media are asked not to wear clothing that shows allegiance to a particular team or driver. Shorts are allowed in the pit and garage areas.
The Texas Motor Speedway Media Center is located just off lower pit road between the garages in the infield. Media with an infield paddock parking pass may park either in the North or South paddock. There also are pre-assigned parking spaces located in the Media Center reserved parking lot and on Allison Avenue. If you are assigned one of these limited spots, please park in the designated numbered space that coincides with the number on your parking pass. Vehicles parking in these spots – even temporarily – without the properly numbered parking credential will be towed.
The Media Center provides work space for members of the media in the deadline room (assigned seating), photographer work room as well as a designated room for team/driver public relations representatives. Press conferences, post-qualifying interviews and post-race interviews are conducted in the deadline room of the Media Center.
The pedestrian tunnel is located at the pit road exit and will allow you to gain access to the grandstand area. The tunnel is open each day when the gates open and will close approximately two hours after the day’s events are completed.
All credentialed photographers must wear a NASCAR-issued or track-issued vest at all times. Shooting without a vest will result in a credential violation. Photographers receiving track-issued vests are required by NASCAR to virtually attend a Zoom meeting to go over the guidelines. NASCAR will email the link on race week.
Track-issued vests can be signed out at the TMS desk in the Media Center lobby. Photographers who do not return their vest will have their credentials revoked for subsequent races. Vests are available to credentialed photographers only.
Photographers that do not adhere to the procedures reviewed during the mandatory photo meetings will have their credentials revoked.
There are reserved spots in Victory Lane for traveling photographers and local media. If your publication does not have a reserved spot, you may fill in the spaces around the reserved spots. A separate room is provided for photographers in the Media Center. Space is available for approximately 28 photographers. The room has open seating as well as lockers (lock required).
Second through fifth-place finishers in each of the three NASCAR national series will be made available for post-race interviews on pit road. Please do not go over the wall onto pit road until instructed by NASCAR or Texas Motor Speedway officials.
Race winners will be made available for post-race comments in both Victory Lane (local TV affiliates) or in Victory Theater if raining. “VLA” access designation on your credential is required to get into Victory Lane.
The race winner will also be brought into the Media Center deadline room for a post-race press conference along with the crew chief and (pending availability) team owner/leadership.
The Media Center has a dedicated room for industry PR representatives, which is the first room on your right in the rear hallway heading towards the restrooms. The separate PR work room has wireless internet, multiple television monitors and shelving above the work spaces for storage.
A list of all scheduled press conferences can be found in the information bins as well as posted throughout the media center. The press conferences are open to anyone with media center access.
Select NASCAR Cup Series and O’Reilly Auto Parts Series drivers will be brought into the deadline room for a media briefing prior to practice and qualifying. Drivers in the top 25 of the NASCAR Cup Series standings will participate in an informal, small group interview session beginning 30 minutes prior to practice or following their respective qualifying run.
Pole winners for both the NASCAR Cup Series and O’Reilly Auto Parts Series will be brought into the deadline room for a post-qualifying press conference.
NASCAR Statistical Services will supply the Texas Motor Speedway staff with various statistical information, advisories and updates throughout the weekend. Copies will be available in the information bins located in the front of the deadline room.
