TEXAS MOTOR SPEEDWAY CALLS UPON DEVOTED RACE SPECTATORS TO TAKE PART IN SEVENTH ANNUAL FAN COUNCIL
FORT WORTH, Texas (February 26, 2018)
In an effort to further enhance the racing experience of all of its fans, Texas Motor Speedway is once again calling upon its most loyal fans to serve on the Fan Council and offer constructive feedback to speedway officials.
Starting Monday and continuing through March 9, fans can apply for a seat on the Texas Motor Speedway Fan Council by visiting http://www.texasmotorspeedway.com/about-texas-motor-speedway/fan-council/.
The Fan Council, which consists of 20 to 30 individuals, will conference with Texas Motor Speedway representatives to discuss various subjects and make proactive recommendations for the benefit of the overall fan base.
Fan Council members will take part in an on-site meeting following the speedway’s O’Reilly Auto Parts 500 NASCAR doubleheader weekend set for April 6-8; the Texas Indy 600 INDYCAR/NASCAR doubleheader June 7-9; and the AAA Texas 500 NASCAR tripleheader on Nov. 1-4.
Over the course of the 2018 race season, members of the Fan Council will be obligated to complete five separate email questionnaires to help speedway management plan for race weekend meetings and recaps.
This will mark the seventh consecutive season that core fans will be invited to serve on the Fan Council. Instituted in 2012, the Fan Council has served as a channel for passionate fans of Texas Motor Speedway to provide their first-hand feedback and recommendations to officials and management.
The Fan Council has had a direct impact on several of Texas Motor Speedway’s recent initiatives, including kids ticket pricing, an improved rainout policy, perks for season ticket holders, and the inclusion of racing at the TMS Dirt Track during the April NASCAR doubleheader weekend.
“There’s no doubt that the Fan Council has had a significant impact on changes and improvements at Texas Motor Speedway,” TMS President Eddie Gossage said. “Nothing is more important than our fans and what they think of this speedway. To have such a knowledgeable fan base provide us with their feedback is an influential tool at making this place better and better every year.”
Council seat selections will be made March 19 and members will be notified no later than March 23. Once the term expires, new members will be chosen for the 2019 season.
