FORT WORTH, Texas (August 27, 2016) – The Chip Ganassi Racing duo of Scott Dixon and Tony Kanaan posted the two fastest laps in Saturday’s abbreviated practice session for the upcoming Firestone 600 Verizon IndyCar Series race at Texas Motor Speedway.

Dixon posted a lap of 214.937 miles per hour in the 30-minute, split-field session of the 20 drivers that will take part in the resumption of the Firestone 600 that was suspended in June due to inclement weather. Kanaan was second at 214.476 mph.

Rounding out the top five were Marco Andretti at 213.095 mph, Graham Rahal at 212.765 mph and Sebastien Bourdais at 212.164 mph, respectively.

The Firestone 600 will begin at 8 p.m. CT (NBC Sports Network) and will resume on Lap 72 of 248 with James Hinchcliffe leading the way on the restart. Hinchcliffe was seventh fastest at 210.977 mph.

Led by Dixon and Kanaan, Chevy-powered drivers recorded six of the top 10 fastest laps.
