FORT WORTH, Texas (December 16, 2015) - Texas Motor Speedway will officially wrap up its 2015 season with its final race as Speedway Children's Charities and The Cowtown C.A.L.F host the Speedway Candy Cane Classic Holiday 5k and Reindeer Dash on Saturday beginning at 4 p.m. 

>The holiday-themed run, benefitting Speedway Children's Charities-Texas Chapter and The Cowtown C.A.L.F, will encompass Texas Motor Speedway's 1.5-mile track along with the festive Gift of Lights display along the concourse. Following the run, participants will be able to enjoy the holiday classic "Elf" in the infield on the world's largest, high-definition LED video board. 

The Reindeer Dash, a short run down pit lane, will open the festivities at 4 p.m. and be followed by the 5k at 4:45 p.m. 

Runners can still sign up to participate in this weekend's run by visiting www.cowtownmarathon.org. The Reindeer Dash entry fee is $20 and the holiday 5k is $15 for children 17 and under and $35 for adults. Runners can sign up the day of the event by visiting the registration tent, located in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series garage in the speedway infield.  

Packet pick-up and registration for all participants will begin at 3 p.m. All registrants will receive a Speedway Candy Cane Classic Holiday 5k and Reindeer Dash long sleeve t-shirt.  

Runners are encouraged to come dressed in their creative holiday costumes as the winner and runner-up will receive prizes as part of the "Holiday Cheermeister" Award given for the best-dressed holiday attire. 

Following the races, runners and the general public can watch the hilarious holiday film "Elf" on "Big Hoss TV" beginning at 6:45 p.m. The movie, featuring comedian Will Ferrell and actress Zooey Deschannel, is included in the entry fee for all runners. The movie also will be open to the general public at a cost of $20 per carload. Moviegoers can enter through the South Tunnel and watch from the comfort of their car. 

Proceeds from the Speedway Candy Cane Classic's 5k and Reindeer Dash will provide educational, financial, social and medical need for area youth. For more information on the event and registration, please visit www.cowtownmarathon.org.
