Final Week Of Racing Draws A Season-High 228 Competitors For The Six-Week Summer Program

“Show & Shine” Also Attracts A Season-Best 135 Participants

Season Champs To Be Recognized During Dickies 500 Pre-Race Activities

FORT WORTH, Texas (August 7, 2009) – The six-week Scion Drag-n-Brag program culminated in grand fashion as Friday evening’s season finale attracted a season-high 228 competitors and the four season champions were crowned at Texas Motor Speedway.

Familiar faces became division champions as previous winners Michael Painter of Sanger claimed the competitive Outlaw Division championship and Sean Clough of Terrell earned the Sportsman Division title.

“This series is a lot of fun and I can’t wait to come back next year,” Painter said. “The Street Outlaw Division is a real tough class with real fast cars. You have to be very consistent. It’s a lot of fun and it’s safe.”

Tony Romadoni and Alan Hill, both capped off championship performances by each earning their fourth win of the season. Romandoni of Fort Worth, who competed in five of the six weeks, captured the Street Bandits Division while Hill, who claimed victories during the first three weeks of the season, earned the championship in the ATI Success Driven Tuner Division. Hill holds the distinction of becoming the first repeat winner of Scion Drag-n-Brag.

The program was aimed at curtailing illegal street racing. Romadoni used Scion Drag-n-Brag as an opportunity to encourage his family and friends to stay away from illegal street racing.

“It’s a great program,” Ramadoni said. “I came here because I was trying to encourage my other friends and my nephews that are getting their licenses that they make sure that they put everything they have out on the track and not on the streets. It means a lot. I was here for the fun of it, but winning it is a big plus.”

Other season finale winners included Robby Bobby of Southlake in the Sports Division, Tony Mantana of Dallas in the Street Outlaw Division and Robert Stupplebeen in the special Scion Division.

Racers accumulated points throughout the six weeks. Competitors received three points for a victory, two points for a runner-up finish and all other racers received one point regardless of finish.

The four champions will be recognized during the pre-race ceremonies of the upcoming Dickies 500 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race on Nov. 8.

The final “Show & Shine” car display competition attracted a season-high 135 participants and the “Best in Show” overall winner came in the form of an American classic. Jim White, of Flower Mound, won the top honor with his 1932 Ford 5W Coupe.

Never Again

I will never be attending another drag and brag event at TMS, Cameron Branch is a straight douche-bag. They don't match cars up correctly, for instance, a 240sx with an sr swap and after market turbo kit matched up against a g35. from what i have read in the rules this 240sx shouldn't have even been in the tuner class and when we told Mr branch about it he said we *** too much, are you kidding me? If it wasn't for us showing up to your event you wouldn't even have the damn thing. Second, a stock old school toyota( guy had "team potato" on the back) had to race the red evo, again, are you kidding me? I got red flagged going up against a Yaris and i was in a cobalt ss supercharged, this was an unfair match to begin with, i am going to put me getting red flagged on the starter for not being consistent with his starts but whatever. I will never go back to that place again i will just go to a real drag strip that has a consistent start tree and a time slip for 15 bucks.

Again Mr branch you sir are a jackass and you need to listen to the people that made your event possible in the first place, we are your customers and you telling us we bitched too much for catching something that your "techs" didn't catch that was so blatant. You fail and i will be telling all of my friends not to ever go to another one of your events or your shop that you got to freely promote at this event.

Street Outlaw Champion!

Michael Painter wins the Street Outlaw Division season championship

Sportsman Division Champion!

Sean Clough wins the Sportsman Division season championship

Street Outlaw Winner!

Tony Mantana wins the Street Outlaw Division title for week 6 of SCION drag-n-brag

Street Bandit Winner and Champion

Tony Ramadoni wins the Street Bandit Division title and season championship

Sportsman Division Winner!

Robby Bobby wins the Sportsman Division title in week 6 of SCION drag-n-brag

ATI Tuner Winner and Champion

Alan Hill wins both the week 6 title and the season championship for the ATI Tuner Division
