A scanner can be rented in the Midway area of the track. Scanners allow you to listen to the conversation between the driver and the crew chief. (like listening to the conversation between the Head Coach and the Quarterback in football). You may hear another voice on there, that is the spotter. That person is the ‘eyes in the sky’ for the driver. The spotter stands on the roof of the speedway and tells the driver what is happening around the car and track. **A MUST for a beginning or emerging fan.
This is Katie! She is the newest Great American Sweetheart at Texas Motor Speedway. You will see Katie throughout the facility during a race weekend with her counterparts: Becky, Stephanie and Brittany. A little known fact about Katie is that she was the leading NCAA Division 1 three-point shooter while in college. She has game!
This is something you will see that is pretty unique to motorsports, a lanyard and a credential holder. Most people wear these to keep their tickets, pit passes and any other special access nearby but their hands free.
This is a Fan Guide. Most of the contents in the Fan Guide can also be found if you download the TMS App to your mobile phone. If you prefer to use the printed guide, it is a great source of information from track schedule to maps of the facility. These guides can be found along the frontstretch before you enter the gates of the speedway in very tall yellow, four-sided holders.

If you go to the Midway area located along the frontstretch before you enter the gates of the speedway, you will see trailers branded with the faces, sponsors and numbers of the athletes on the track. Coolers are allowed and welcome at Texas Motor Speedway. It cannot be any larger than 14 x 14 x 14 and cannot contain products packaged in glass. Yes, unlike other professional sports, we let you bring in your own beer, soft drinks and even food if you like.
Parking at Texas Motor Speedway is FREE. You can choose to purchase VIP or Express parking, if you would like. Texas Motor Speedway has more paved parking than Disney World.
Comfortable shoes are essential to attending a race at Texas Motor Speedway. (Katie is a Texan so nothing's more comfortable than her boots.) This facility is the second largest sport and entertainment venue in the United States. It is very easy to get around the track, but you will likely walk quite a bit. There are trams that run along the outside of the track. The tram schedule can be found in the Fan Guide or on your TMS App.
