AAA Texas 500 Weekend

Johnny Sauter (No.13 Seal Master/Curb Records Toyota) picked up his second win of 2012, completing the season sweep at Texas Motor Speedway. Sauter passed Paker Kligerman with 11 laps to go coming off of turn two and pulled away from there. Sauter led 28 laps on his way to his sixth win of his career.

Kevin Harvick (No. 33 One Main Financial Chevrolet) dominated the 2012 O'Reilly Auto Parts Challenge leading 127 of the 200 laps but almost was caught and passed by up-and-commer Ryan Blaney. Harvick who is no stranger to the Texas Motor Speedway victory lane has won five times in the Nationwide Series at "The Great American Speedway"™.

The AAA Texas 500 is the eighth race in the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup, a make-or-break event on the march to the championship. 2012 was a battle for the ages and one of the best finishes in the Sprint Cup series all season long. Brad Keselowski and Jimmie Johnson fought back and forth in the closing laps with Johnson prevailing over the eventual series champion. Johnson led a total of 168 laps on his way to his first win at Texas Motor Speedway since 2007.
