FORT WORTH, Texas (January 17, 2017) - NASCAR fans excited to kick off the season but unable to attend the Daytona 500 can grab the next best seat for free - watching the race on the "World's Largest TV."

Texas Motor Speedway will open its infield to allow fans to enjoy the start of the 2017 NASCAR season with the annual Daytona 500 Watching Party. The free event allows fans to camp or tailgate inside the 1.5-mile speedway and watch the racing action from Daytona Beach, Fla., on "Big Hoss" - the 12-story tall, high-definition TV located on the backstretch. Fans can even ensure they have the best seat and camping spot available when NASCAR returns to Texas Motor Speedway for April's O'Reilly Auto Parts 500 doubleheader and November's AAA Texas 500 tripleheader as well as June's Rainguard Water Sealers 600 INDYCAR race by taking a tour and making their selection in person.

The two-day event, which is open to the public, begins when the gates to the South Tunnel open on Saturday, Feb. 25 at 8 a.m. CT for those looking to camp overnight as well as those tailgaters interested in watching the season-opening XFINITY Series Powershares QQQ 300 race from Daytona beginning at 2:30 p.m. The weekend culminates with the running of the 59th Daytona 500 on Sunday, Feb. 26, beginning at 1 p.m.

Fans interested in camping or tailgating must RSVP at www.texasmotorspeedway.com/DaytonaRSVP before Monday, Feb. 20. Spots for the watching party are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. The first 500 campers/tailgaters in attendance will receive an O'Reilly Auto Parts tailgate goodie bag.

Interested fans will have the opportunity to select their seating preference and/or infield camping options for 2017 as ticket representatives will offer guided tours of the grandstands and infield camping to view available options. This ensures fans have their desired spot for this year's three major race weekends at Texas Motor Speedway.

Campers for the Daytona 500 Watching Party or fans attending strictly to select their seat can visit with a Texas Motor Speedway ticket sales representative at the fan assistance kiosk located at the infield camping entrance.

This year, Texas Motor Speedway will debut its new kids pricing, featuring $30 season tickets for fans 12 and under. Season tickets for adults start as low as $199 and both include tickets to all 10 days of on-track action at Texas Motor Speedway as well as a number of benefits including discounted concessions, merchandise and camping.

Texas Motor Speedway will have plenty of entertainment as 95.9 The Ranch and 92.1 Hank FM broadcast live from the festivities and provide live musical entertainment following Saturday's NASCAR XFINITY Series race. Saturday evening fans can also enjoy the comedy classic "Stroker Ace" on "Big Hoss."

During the weekend, Texas Motor Speedway will open its display area in the infield where fans can take photos with a NASCAR show car and Wild Asphalt Circus vehicles, purchase NASCAR and speedway merchandise in the Speedway Motorsports, Inc. Properties souvenir trailer and enjoy concessions from Levy Restaurants. Fans also are permitted to bring their own food and beverage to the infield.

Fans also can take part in a cornhole tournament officiated by the Texas Cornhole League. Play begins with qualifying rounds on Saturday and Sunday, followed by the finals later on Sunday. Teams will compete for the top prize of two $100 O'Reilly Auto Parts gift cards while runner-up wins a pair of $50 O'Reilly Auto Parts gift cards and third place receives two $25 O'Reilly Auto Parts gift cards.
