SNEAK PEEK VIDEO OF INDYCAR’S HINCHCLIFFE MEETING HIS DANCING WITH THE STARS PARTNER AT TEXAS MOTOR SPEEDWAY

FORT WORTH, Texas (September 12, 2016) – Verizon IndyCar Series star James Hinchcliffe arrived at Texas Motor Speedway on Aug. 27 in search of a victory in the Firestone 600, but instead found a dance partner.

Prior to the Firestone 600, Sharna Burgess made a surprise visit to Texas Motor Speedway to see Hinchcliffe and formally introduce herself as his professional dance partner for Season 23 of Dancing With The Stars. The season premiere airs tonight at 7 p.m. CT on ABC-TV.

“She hasn’t won before which I know makes her really hungry,” Hinchcliffe said. “I’m obviously supermotivated to win (because)”¦ A) I’m kind of a competitive person by nature. B) the last INDYCAR guy to be on the show won it, so anything less I’m gonna feel Helio is better, which he might be. But either way, the drive is pretty high so hopefully that will serve us well.”

Three-time Indianapolis 500 champion Helio Castroneves won the Crystal Ball Trophy with pro dance partner Julianne Hough in Season 5 of Dancing With The Stars.

In addition to Hinchcliffe, this season's lineup of celebrity dancers includes TV icons, Olympic medalists, music legends, political figures and more. The other 12 competitors are former Texas Governor Rick Perry, Amber Rose, Calvin Johnson, Jake T. Austin, Jana Kramer, Kenny "Babyface" Edmonds, Laurie Hernandez, Marilu Henner, Maureen McCormick, Ryan Lochte, Terra Jolé and Vanilla Ice.
