CRAFTON FASTEST IN OPENING WINSTAR WORLD CASINO & RESORT 350 PRACTICES

FORT WORTH, Texas (November 5, 2015) – Two-time defending NASCAR Camping World Truck Series champion Matt Crafton, chasing a season sweep at Texas Motor Speedway, got off to a start in the right direction by posting the fastest lap from Thursday’s two practice sessions for the WinStar World Casino & Resort 350.

>Crafton (No. 88 Damp Rid/Menards Toyota), who won June’s WinStar World Casino & Resort 350, posted a top lap of 179.862 miles per hour in the first of two practice sessions. He also had the second-best consecutive lap average for a 10-lap run at 173.020 mph, trailing only rookie John Hunter Nemechek (No. 8 Chevrolet) at 173.207 mph, in the second session.

The top three laps all came in the first session with Daniel Suarez (No. 51 ARRIS Toyota) second at 179.313 mph and rookie Spencer Gallagher (No. 23 Allegiant Chevrolet) third at 179.235. Rookie Cameron Hayley (No. 13 The Carolina Nut Co. Toyota) had the fastest lap in the second session (179.164), which was good for fourth fastest overall.

The two NCWTS practices officially kicked off a busy AAA Texas 500 NASCAR tripleheader weekend that resumes Friday with the Sprint Cup Series, XFINITY Series and Camping World Truck Series all on track.

Friday’s schedule will be highlighted by Service King Qualifying Days for the Sprint Cup Series and Camping World Truck Series and culminate with the evening running of the NCWTS WinStar World Casino and Resort 350.

Pole qualifying for the WinStar World Casino & Resort 350 begins at 3:40 p.m. Friday and will be followed by Sprint Cup qualifying for the AAA Texas 500 at 5:45 p.m. The WinStar World Casino & Resort 350 (TV: FOX Sports 1; Radio: KRLD-FM 105.3 The Fan, MRN, SiriusXM) closes out the action beginning at 7:30 p.m.

The XFINITY Series O’Reilly Auto Parts Challenge is set for 2:30 p.m. Saturday and the NSCS AAA Texas 500 on Sunday beginning at 1 p.m.
