FORT WORTH, Texas (November 4, 2015) – The AAA Texas 500 will serve as the final race at Texas Motor Speedway for four-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion Jeff Gordon at Texas Motor Speedway. He has been a competitor in every Sprint Cup race here since the venue opened in 1997, but his strong ties to Texas Motor Speedway were firmly rooted even before stock cars circled the high-banked, 1.5-mile oval.
Defending NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion Kevin Harvick is looking to snap a 25-race winless streak at Texas Motor Speedway in Sunday’s AAA Texas 500. Texas remains the only track of the three races remaining in the season (Phoenix and Homestead-Miami are the others) that Harvick has not conquered.
Sending a clear message that it will not tolerate any actions that alter the outcome of playoff races, NASCAR has suspended Matt Kenseth for two races, which includes Sunday’s AAA Texas 500 at Texas Motor Speedway.
