Dillon paced the first practice session with a speed of 182.883 miles per hour. Sam Hornish Jr. (No. 98 Carroll Shelby Engine Co. Ford), Elliott Sadler (No. 1 OneMain Financial Ford), Ty Dillon (No. 3 Bulwark/Wayne Workwear Chevrolet) and Erik Jones (No. 20 GameStop/Mortal Kombat X Toyota) rounded the top five.
