CHARLOTTE, N.C. (May 20, 2015) – The following is a statement from Speedway Motorsports, Inc. Executive Chairman O. Bruton Smith regarding Wednesday’s announcement that he will be inducted into the NASCAR Hall of Fame Class of 2016:
Serving as a special guest at Tuesday’s Speeding To Read championship assembly at Texas Motor Speedway, Verizon IndyCar Series driver Justin Wilson had more of an appreciation than most for an elementary school educational program. As a youth, Wilson was diagnosed with dyslexia and had to battle with the learning disability in school, especially when it came to reading.
Verizon IndyCar Series drivers Scott Dixon and Justin Wilson, who took part as special guests in Texas Motor Speedway’s Speeding To Read championship assembly on Tuesday, head back to Indianapolis and focus on Sunday’s 99th running of the Indianapolis 500 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
FORT WORTH, Texas (May 19, 2015) – Three-time Verizon IndyCar Series champion Scott Dixon of Target Chip Ganassi Racing and Justin Wilson of Andretti Autosport didn’t have to wait until Sunday’s 99th running of the Indianapolis 500 to find themselves in front of an enthusiastic and appreciative crowd.
History was made Saturday night at the Portacool Texas World Dirt Track Championship. Ryan Gustin of Marshalltown, Iowa became the first driver in track history to win two races at the Texas Motor Speedway Dirt Track on the same weekend as he captured the Modified and SUPR Late Model championships.
