FORT WORTH, Texas (October 31, 2014) – Roush Fenway Racing rookie Chris Buescher, a native of Prosper, recorded the fastest lap during Friday’s opening NASCAR Nationwide Series practice for the O’Reilly Auto Parts Challenge at Texas Motor Speedway.
Buescher (No. 60 Bit O Honey Ford) ran a lap of 186.085 mph on his ninth and final lap of the 50-minute session to lead the 40 cars that took to the track. He was followed by Joey Logano (No. 22 Discount Tire Ford) at 185.255 mph, Trevor Bayne (No. 6 AdvoCare Ford) at 184.811 mph, Austin Dillon (No. 33 Grainger Chevrolet) at 184.370 mph and Brian Scott (No. 2 Country Bob’s Sauce Chevrolet) at 184.200 mph.
The Nationwide Series returns to the track for its final 90-minute practice at 3:30 p.m. CT. Qualifying will be held Saturday at 11:10 a.m. to set the field for the O’Reilly Auto Parts Challenge, which will begin at 2:30 p.m.
