FORT WORTH, TEXAS (Oct. 30, 2014) – ThorSport Racing driver Johnny Sauter posted the fastest lap Thursday in the final NASCAR Camping World Truck Series practice for the WinStar World Casino & Resort 350 at Texas Motor Speedway.
Sauter (No. 98 Smokey Mountain/Curb Records Toyota), a two-time pole winner at Texas Motor Speedway, ran a top lap of 180.186 miles per hour in the 90-minute session to sweep the fastest laps in both practices. Sauter, who had a top lap of 180.114 mph in the opening practice, was the only driver to crack the 180-mph barrier among the 30 trucks in either session.
Toyota-powered drivers owned the top-five fastest laps behind Sauter, Jeb Burton (No. 13 Estes/Carolina Nut Company Toyota) at 179.952 mph, Timothy Peters (No. 17 Red Horse Racing Toyota) at 179.826 mph, Kyle Busch (No. 51 ToyotaCare Toyota) at 179.641 mph and points leader Matt Crafton (No. 88 Goof Off/Menards Toyota) at 179.223 mph.
The Camping World Truck Series returns Friday for Pinnacle Propane Qualifying Days at 2:10 p.m. CT and then the WinStar World Casino & Resort 350 at 7:30 p.m.
