Power (No. 12 Verizon Team Penske Chevrolet) earned his second consecutive pole at Texas Motor Speedway as well as his second of the season. The pole was the 34th of his career, which broke a tie with Dario Franchitti and gave Power sole possession of sixth place all-time.
