FORT WORTH, Texas (May 28, 2014) – Speedway Children’s Charities – Texas Chapter will once again play host to its annual Chefs in the Fast Lane presented by the City of Roanoke: The Unique Dining Capital of Texas on Thursday, June 5, at Texas Motor Speedway, but this time there also will be some marquee drivers that live in the fast lane as special guests.
The reigning Verizon IndyCar Series champion Scott Dixon, 2013 Indy 500 champion Tony Kanaan, along with fellow Chip Ganassi Racing drivers Charlie Kimball and Ryan Briscoe, will be at the event to support Speedway Children’s Charities–Texas Chapter and compete in a friendly dessert “racing” competition of their own. Since they are all about speed, the competition will determine which driver is the fastest at designing a cupcake, followed by putting together a gift bag and culminating with them designing a “mystery item” with the chocolate fountain.
Following their competition, the drivers will present six lucky fans with $100 gift cards courtesy of Target. The night will conclude with the drivers participating in a Q&A session with the guests in attendance.
Fans also will enjoy an evening of fine fare featuring nearby restaurants and tour some of the most luxurious settings in motorsports at the Lone Star Tower condominiums overlooking Turn 2 at Texas Motor Speedway. The event will feature a new dining experience with cuisines from some of Dallas/Fort Worth’s most popular eateries including Dee Lincoln’s, Classic Café, FnG Eats, Levy Restaurants, among others. The event also will include local Roanoke establishments such as Hard Eight BBQ, Hey Sugar, Susie’s Sweets and Tacos and Avocados.
Guests will help crown a winner of Chefs in the Fast Lane presented by the City of Roanoke: The Unique Dining Capital of Texas as they will submit their vote for their favorite restaurant at the conclusion of the event. The four Chip Ganassi Racing drivers will then present the trophy to the winning chef.
Registration will begin at 5:30 p.m. CT and the evening will kick off with a cocktail and dessert reception at the condo clubhouse prior to the first condo tour beginning at 6:30 p.m.
Individual tickets are $150 and $275 for couples.
