Thank you for being part of the first ever drag racing series at Texas Motor Speedway. We had a lot of fun this summer with the SCION drag-n-brag events and hope you did too. In fact, it was so much fun…we are planning to do it again next summer! Of course with it being a Texas Motor Speedway event, we are looking into how we can make it bigger and better in the future for our fans. That’s where you come in! I wanted a nice print our of the final point standings and it occurred to me that other's might want a copy too... so, using the certificate TMS gave me for perfect attendance this season, I photoshopped a 2010 Final Standings image that can be printed on 8.5" x 11" paper. Enjoy!!

The classes were setup terribly and it took forever to get any racing started. Was not a well setup event whatsoever.

I also want to offer my sincere appreciation to TMS and the staff for offering the opportunity to all of us who participated. You are not going to please everyone and there will be those that might never come back but rest assured there will be many of us who will gladly return.

There were just too many guys who felt that winning was the only thing that was important and that's unfortunate. Your E63 definitely is not going to lose to a Firebird that is stock and it certainly is not fair that you were knocked out of the competition early and not allowed to race the next round by the Firebird who was disqualified. I realize it is hard for the staff to monitor and catch all of the cheaters but whoever disqualified the Firebird should have have notified the announcer to inform you to rejoin the competition. You would have certainly been in the quarters and possibly the semi finals but as we all know, no one was going to beat SL65 with 660HP. That car is just about a close to an EXOTIC as you can come and needs to run in a class by himself. My recommendation for next season is have two Sportman divisions, 1) Naturally aspirated 2) all others with turbos and superchargers and maybe include NOS.

I enjoyed meeting all you guys. Anyone interested in my one of a kind SLK55? It's about time for me to move on to my next car so I am considering putting it up for sale.

I had a blast out at the scion drag and brag i cant wait till they do it again tms did a great job with track and facilty was amazing. im ready for next year i meet alot of awsome people. As for you shelly i had alot of fun talking with you and leon and wish ya the best of everything and will be looking forward to seeing ya next year :) maybe we race each other again

I understand where your coming from. The best way to do this is get on EVERY local website and forum that you belong to and preach the word. Tell every one that you see and let them know your experience. Go to your local track and talk to someone about planing an event like this, they are always looking for something fun and new. The last night was down right awful and the staff was very unhelpful and rude. Cameron has been helpful in the past but showed friday that he has no bussiness running this event. The only way I would consider doing this again is if he was no longer associated with the event and you get people in tech that no what they are doing, know something about the vehicles they are looking at, and MOST important KNOW THE RULES and stick to them. Not all the staff is bad, just mainly Cameron and the tech guy that comes through the classes and "pairs" up cars. The one person that has been OUTSTANDING is Scott the starter. If he really cares or not I do not know, but he atleast is helpful and seems sincere and is nice as he can be.He just seems like a really nice guy.

I will never be attending another drag and brag event at TMS, Cameron Branch is a straight douche-bag. They don't match cars up correctly, for instance, a 240sx with an sr swap and after market turbo kit matched up against a g35. from what i have read in the rules this 240sx shouldn't have even been in the tuner class and when we told Mr branch about it he said we *** too much, are you kidding me? If it wasn't for us showing up to your event you wouldn't even have the damn thing. Second, a stock old school toyota( guy had "team potato" on the back) had to race the red evo, again, are you kidding me? I got red flagged going up against a Yaris and i was in a cobalt ss supercharged, this was an unfair match to begin with, i am going to put me getting red flagged on the starter for not being consistent with his starts but whatever. I will never go back to that place again i will just go to a real drag strip that has a consistent start tree and a time slip for 15 bucks.

Again Mr branch you sir are a jackass and you need to listen to the people that made your event possible in the first place, we are your customers and you telling us we bitched too much for catching something that your "techs" didn't catch that was so blatant. You fail and i will be telling all of my friends not to ever go to another one of your events or your shop that you got to freely promote at this event.

I agree with Terry and the Evil one. Leon and I had a wonderful time. Even though I won only two races this was the best summer I had in years. Being a rookie to the drag racing scene perhaps by the next event I'll have more experience off the line-with the nos to win a few more races. Yes I would love to have ya'll increase the event to two or three times per year. The TMS staff was great. I appreciate the way they handled suggestions/issues that could be handled immediately and keep others in consideration for the next event. Scott thanks, you were awesome! It was great meeting so many drivers, Michael Painter it was a pleasure meeting you and your friends I wish ya'll the best. The man in the Buick, you yelling 'Girl power!' to me after I won my 1st rnd was just way to funny-I wish I had a video of that!LOL-oh and Thanks! Silverr ram-thanks for you support and encouragement-we'll be seeing you at Kdal. And Jo maybe someday you can make it to Kdale and finally we can race with nos. Until next time-stay cool:)

He went out because when when I got paired with him (round three I think?), it was pointed out to me (by another racer) that he was running drag radials. I then asked the guy, and he readily admitted it. Next stop, the tech's to point out the issue.... next stop, the guy was out.

Moral of the story, know the rules and then check the competition each round for adherence to said rules.

Texas Sized Thanks to Texas Motor Speedway

Thank you Texas Motor Speedway, you made Friday nights in Texas a whole lot better.

The overall experience has been alot of fun. Each week, (I was there for all 6 weeks) it was a little different and therefore it would appear that when you put on another drag event, it will be "the" place to be on Friday night. Thanks for all the entertainment, it was creative, unique and just made the entire evening a fun experience. The only that I would like to see is a much bigger event next time. In the grand scheme of life this isnt a huge deal, but I am going to vent right now.

Maybe it will help things for next year.

I had been there 4 of the 6 nights , so I probably wasnt going to win my class, and I was tied for 2nd, with a bunch of other huys, so again not a big deal.

I dont mind losing fair and square.

So, the black firebird (sportsman class, no mods, etc, rated at 325 hp) in the first round

beats a cherokee srt-8 with 425hp

Ok, it could happen.

2nd round he faces me.I have 500 hp.

During staging, I look over and it looks like he has (illegal for the class) drag radials on his car . I could be wrong though.

Our race.We leave at the same time, he beats me by a couple car lengths.Now I am a little bit unhappy. Got bounced in the 2nd round by a car with more than 100hp less than me.

Ok, again it could happen.

The guy pulls around to stage again & I pull into the pits. Waiting for him to race again.

I am not happy. I find out later he pulled off the track and didnt race again.

1. If you are going to be a cheating coward, dont even come out.

2. If you are going to quit, let the guy you beat, race again.

3. Enjoy your karma pontiac man.

Vent off.

It was a good season, fun, some improvements could be made(see next post), I met some cool people.

I am not a big drag racer, but I had a good time and enjoyed myself.

Where do I start with this mess. Well let me first start by saying thanks to TMS for finally putting together a Drag Racing event. I hope that they will build on this experience and build there own track in the future. I think that they would be on a great show a lots of people would come out to there track. Now lets get back the rules, I really don't know if TMS is making them or the people at Scion. Who ever it is need to read them and follow them and not make them up as they go. If Scion is doing this, I think that it is making a bad name for TMS, this will make people not want to come out and race if they try to do this again. The points that are being transfered between the classes shouldn't happen, that screws the points up for all the other racers. I know that TMS will work these things out, I think that TMS should have there own thing and not have cbranch screw things up. I think that i heard that he runs a dirt track, well I wounder if he changes rules in the middle of the season out there, or move points around. I have been on the racing side now let go in as a spectator. Charging admission for kids 5 and under is crazy. My wife had to pay for my 8 month old and my 3 yr old to get in, I know that they have changed that now I just wanted to make a point about it. The workers in the stand where very unfriendly. The handicap seating was blocked off. There was a man that was on crutches and had to clime over the rail she said. I don't know how you can just block the handicap seats off there are people with needs that come to races and need those seats. Then the track changes the rules on bring in your own coolers when have we not been able to bring drinks into TMS even at Nascar events you are allowed to bring them. It seemed like everyone from the security guard to the concessions stand to ushers had a chip on there shoulder or where on a power trip. My wife felt like she had to smuggle the baby food and bottle in the gate. Do to these events we didn't return for the finally week. We as a family would rather dive to denton, k-dale or even Ennis to race even though we live here in Roanoke. We would trade the nice facility for the welcoming atmosphere any day. I hope that TMS will take this into consideration we and if they bring a drag racing event back to TMS. Thanks for your time

Issues with drag-n-brag

By the time most people read this the races will be over, cheaters will have won and Cameron will be patting himself on the back so hard from a job well done that he will be bruised. From the racers point of view, how many are displeased with the lack of organization and feedback from the staff? Maybe if we all contact Eddie Gossage on his page http://www.texasmotorspeedway.com/members/EddieGossage/default.aspx and let him know what the general consensus is, maybe he will take charge and clean up the event. He may not be hearing what is being said and the opinion of HIS track. If we all let him know, maybe he will make the changes that need to addressed. I spoke to one racer whom has decided not to attend tonight’s festivities due to resistance from the staff and therefore I have chosen to take myself out of the competition. I don’t want to be a part of anything that will alienate someone for stepping on some toes that NEEDED to be stepped on. GOOD JOB Cameron, you are definitely on playground rules at this point. Step up be a man and correct the wrongs you have done.
