I guess I expect too much!   The DFW local media-news is giving the Cowboys/Eagles game more coverage than the races at TMS this weekend.  We are in the final races of the Chase to the Sprint Cup and I haven't heard any stories on TV yet.  My blood pressure goes up race weekend from the excitement, but my blood boils when we (TMS race supporters) don't get appropriate coverage.

I heard channel 5 on Wednesday morning mention the incoming traffic due to the races, but that was all.  Our local newspaper cuts our best sports writers from their jobs and now we get lousy information and publicity from our media.

We have one of the best race track facilities in the country, and Eddie is absolutely the best at promoting, supporting, and selflessly working this year.  Even though I lost my job, I will do what I can to support him and our track.

GENTLEMEN...and Kyle Busch, START YOUR ENGINES!

One of the local stations had a story this morning - can't tell you what channel it is - I didn't pay that much attention.

It was about a 3 - 4 minute piece, but there was some.

try living in the san antonio area.... the only coverage nascar gets is when there is a "big / nasty" wreck!

DFW media has always been terrible when it comes to TMS and NASCAR.  In the beginning, when the track first opened, for a couple of years they were handing out free papers and there WAS some newspaper print that was good.  Of course, that didn't last long.  T.V. has always stunk.  There have been several letters to the paper to no avail.  I give up on them.  I go to the internet to find out what I can.  It's a shame they don't listen to their customers.....the internet is about to overtake them.  Newspapers shutting down left and right.

You are so right about the newspapers shutting down and cutting back. Dean worked for Dallas paper from 1977 until 2007 when they cut back, no papers delivered more then 100 miles out of Dallas anymore Austin is the only place they deliver that far anymore

Be who you are and say what you feel, Because those that matter don't mind and those that mind don't matter

WOW!  Big change for Dean after 30 years.  It is sad to see it happening but it IS...right before our eyes.  But, heck...when Terry Blount left, (Ft Worth Star Telegram) so did NASCAR coverage.  Morning News (which I subscribe to) has never provided much in the way of race coverage.  Sad, when there is a track in their backyard.

I think the Justin paper has more on it than the big leagues.

How many times have we heard that people want the NASCAR of the 60s and 70s? Well, we are going down that road where no one will cover it. Not even local media.....

Except now, too much money is banking on television coverage.

Sorry there isn't much coverage.... we generally never get to see the pre-race stuff here but I was telling my parents things, like the pace car coming in and they said they saw it, it showed it on TV, showed the ZZ Top concert, showed driver intro, it's NEVER done that, I was glad to hear that they showed the beginning of things at Texas this time, they enjoyed it!
