Michael Waltrip Racing announced that it has added two road course races to Brian Vickers’ schedule this season. Vickers will compete at Infineon Raceway and Watkins Glen in addition to his six previously scheduled races which include both races at Bristol, Martinsville and New Hampshire. …Joe Gibbs Racing’s Denny Hamlin experienced the Master’s golf tournament in a whole different fashion. Hamlin served as the caddie for PGA Tour player Bubba Watson during the Par 3 Contest. Hamlin sported the classic white, caddie jumpsuit with “B. Watson” in green lettering across the back. “I’ve never even been here before, so it was an amazing experience, seeing the trees, the landscape,” Hamlin said of Augusta National. “And then the golf experience is a whole other thing.”… JR Motorsports announced it would make a change to the crew chiefs of Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Cole Whitt in the NASCAR Nationwide Series. Whitt’s crew chief is now Bruce Cook, who previously served as crew chief for JR Motorsports’ part-time entry. Tony Eury Jr. will now oversee the No. 5 team while continuing his role as JR Motorsports’ competition director. … Jimmie Johnson’s car that failed inspection at Daytona for what was classified as illegal C-posts has been put out to pasture, literally. The car was taken to Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s property in Cleveland County, N.C., where Earnhardt Jr. has a collection of damaged cars he calls “yard ornaments.” His collection includes Juan Pablo Montoya’s infamous car that hit a jet dryer during the Daytona 500. … NASCAR is scheduled to unveil the 25 nominees for the 2013 NASCAR Hall of Fame class today at 5 p.m. CT during SPEED’s hour-long Race Hub show.
