Tony Stewart, driver of the No. 14 Bass Pro Shops/Mobil 1 Chevrolet, has made the transition to the role of driver/owner look easy since making the move as part owner of Stewart Haas Racing in 2009. In 2011 he became the first driver/owner to win a NASCAR Sprint Cup Series championship since Alan Kulwicki in 1992. Stewart outdueled runner-up Carl Edwards to win his third Sprint Cup championship in the closest points finish in series history. Stewart has remained a constant championship contender since making his Sprint Cup Series debut with Joe Gibbs Racing in 1999. Stewart has qualified for the Chase for the Sprint Cup eight times entering the 2013 season. He currently holds a 15-year streak of winning at least one race in season. Before making his mark on NASCAR he excelled in open-wheel racing. Stewart in the IZOD IndyCar Series for three season and earned the 1997 series championship.
