AJ Allmendinger

AJ Allmendinger was driving the No. 22 Shell Pennzoil Dodge in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series for Penske Racing until July 2012 when he tested positive for amphetamines following a random NASCAR drug test. Allmendinger has since completed the Road To Recovery program and is eligible to race again after his indefinite suspension. For 2013 AJ will run part time for Phoenix Racing in the No. 51 Guy Roofing Chevrolet. Prior to his six seasons in NASCAR, Allmendinger was a rising Indy-car star who earned rookie-of-the-year honors in the Champ Car World Series in 2004.

Carpenter surprise pole winner for Indianapolis 500

Ed Carpenter will start on the pole position for the first time in the Indianapolis 500 after pulling off a stunning victory in Saturday's time trials at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Carpenter, an Indianapolis native, posted a four-lap average of 228.762
