Simona de Silvestro

Simona de Silvestro enters her fourth season in the IZOD IndyCar Series driving the No. 78 Nuclear Clean Air Energy Chevrolet for KV Racing Technologies. She is coming off a 2012 campaign where she finished 24th in the series championship. De Silvestro caught the attention of INDYCAR owners with her performance in the developmental Atlantic Series. In three seasons, she earned five wins and finished a career-best third in the 2009 Atlantic championship behind four victories, four poles and nine podium finishes in 12 starts. The effort earned her a fulltime IZOD IndyCar Series ride with HVM in 2010 and she went on to capture rookie-of-the-year honors for the Indianapolis 500 and the series’ Rising Star Award.
