Ryan Hunter-Reay

Ryan Hunter-Reay is emerging as one of the top American drivers in the IZOD IndyCar Series heading into the 2013 campaign. Driving the No. 1 Team DHL/Sun Drop Citrus Soda Chevrolet for Andretti Autosport, the Florida native won the championship in 2012 recording four wins, six podiums, and one pole. Hunter-Reay is a former IZOD IndyCar Series Rookie of the Year, earning the honor in 2007 despite just running six races. Prior to his arrival in the IZOD IndyCar Series, Hunter-Reay spent three seasons in the Champ Car World Series, competing for three different teams and recording a pair of wins.

Is AJ (Allmendinger) running there? I don’t know many of the guys. I raced with Ryan Hunter-Reay in a prototype race in Daytona 24 hours and few years ago. He’s a great guy and doing well. I’m a big fan of Roger Penske. Because I grew up as a Rick Mears fan, so I like to see the Penske group do well. If AJ is running, I would love to see him do well.
