Helio Castroneves

Helio Castroneves is a three-time Indianapolis 500 champion and one of the IZOD IndyCar Series’ most popular drivers. Castroneves is in his 17th Indy-car season, including the last 13 as a member of Team Penske dating back to the CART series. Entering this season as the driver of the No. 3 Hitachi Penske Chevrolet, the Brazilian ranked among the top 15 all time in Indy-car racing with 21 victories and among the top five with 32 poles. He also is a two-time championship runner-up in the IZOD IndyCar Series. In addition to his racing trophies, he also owns a mirror ball trophy for winning the “Dancing With The Stars” competition with Julianne Hough in 2007.

Past Winners Franchitti and Castroneves Ready For Indy 500

Past champions Dario Franchitti and Helio Castroneves were among the drivers who gathered for Media Day Thursday (May 23) ahead of this weekend's running of the 97th Indianapolis 500. Though he already has three Indy 500 victories, defending champion Franchitti is excited to be returning to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway for a shot at his fourth win.
