    FORT WORTH, Texas (November 5, 2009) – NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver and event host Sam Hornish Jr. lets one roll during Thursday evening’s Autotrader.com Sam Hornish Jr. Celebrity Bowling Tournament at Main Event in Grapevine. Hornish Jr. was joined by Dallas Mavericks coach Rick Carlisle; 2004 Sprint Cup Series champion Kurt Busch; former Dallas Cowboys Billy Joe Dupree, Preston Pearson and Robert Newhouse; former Texas Rangers pitchers Jeff Russell and Jose Guzman; Professional Bowlers Association Hall of Famer Del Ballard Jr.; Penske teammate David Stremme; Nationwide Series driver Justin Allgaier; along with other NASCAR, PBA and local sports celebrities, in the annual event benefitting Speedway Children’s Charities – Texas Chapter.

    FORT WORTH, Texas (November 5, 2009) – 2002 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion Bobby Labonte takes aim Thursday during the Beretta Celebrity Clay Shoot presented by Coors Light at the Circle T Ranch in Westlake. Labonte joined several other celebrity shooters, including three-time Indianapolis 500 champion Johnny Rutherford and Fort Worth Mayor Mike Moncrief, in the clay shooting event that benefitted Speedway Children’s Charities-Texas Chapter.

  • Johnson Takes Aim At Historic Fourth Championship During Dickies 500

    FORT WORTH, Texas (November 3, 2009) – No race in the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup has swung the pendulum in favor of one driver more than the Dickies 500. Three-time defending Sprint Cup Series champion Jimmie Johnson can attest to the importance of Sunday’s race at Texas Motor Speedway. Johnson has used the eighth race in the Chase for the Sprint Cup as a springboard in two of his three consecutive championships and walked away with the points lead following the Dickies 500 in each of those previous three seasons. On two of those occasions, he erased a points deficit with a strong outing in the Dickies 500 to wrestle control of the championship lead.
