FORT WORTH, Texas (November 1, 2013) – Rookie Alex Bowman posted the fastest lap in Friday’s opening NASCAR Nationwide Series practice for the O’Reilly Auto Parts Challenge at Texas Motor Speedway.
Bowman (No. 99 Microsoft Windows Toyota), who won the pole at April’s O’Reilly Auto Parts 300 at Texas, recorded a top lap of 182.180 miles per hour to lead the 40 drivers in the 65-minute practice session. Ty Dillon (No. 33 WESCO Chevrolet) was second at 182.082 mph and Parker Kligerman (ToyotaDreamBuild.com Toyota) was third at 182.070 mph.
Nationwide Series championship leader Austin Dillon (No. 3 AdvoCare Chevrolet) was eighth at 181.507 mph.
The NASCAR Nationwide Series returns for its final 90-minute practice beginning at 5 p.m. CT. Pinnacle Propane Qualifying Days for the Nationwide Series pole qualifying will begin at 11:05 a.m. Saturday. Qualifying will be followed by the O’Reilly Auto Parts Challenge race at 2:30 p.m.
