FORT WORTH, Texas (July 15, 2013) – The season championship races for Friday Night Drags presented by Scion at Texas Motor Speedway have intensified as three of the six division leaders were unseated in the fourth week of the six-week competition.

Fort Worth’s Daniel Bernardino (pictured), driving a 2010 Mitsubishi Evo, won for the second consecutive week to take over the top spot from Lantana’s Travis Simpson in the Street Bandit Division. Bernardino defeated John Canfield of Saginaw (2011 Ford Mustang) in the Week 4 division finale.

North Richland Hills’ Stephen Hannah (2012 Nissan GTR) defeated first-time competitor Greg Cruse of Addison (2008 Dodge Viper GTS) in the Supercars Division for his second victory of the summer and the championship lead. He wrestled the lead from Trophy Club’s Adam Gerety.

The Street Outlaw Division also saw a shakeup at the top of the leaderboard. After finishing second on two previous occasions, Keller’s Brent Lancaster, driving a 1985 Chevrolet Camaro, recorded his first victory of the season to unseat Flower Mound’s Will Wortman as the division’s championship leader. Lancaster earned his victory by defeating the 1991 Eagle Talon driven by Glenn Twardowsky of Euless.

In the Black Smoke Warrior and Tuner divisions, the championship leaders continued to put on a dominant display. Springtown’s Charles Carey, driving a 2006 Dodge Ram 2500, remained unbeaten on the season as he won for the fourth consecutive week in the Black Smoke Warrior Division. Haltom City’s Jesse Cecetas padded his lead in the Tuner Division after driving his 2004 Honda S200 to his second consecutive victory.

Fort Worth’s Abel Narezo (2014 Ford Mustang GT) earned his first victory in the Sportsman Division, but Southlake’s Dane Hobbs (2012 Ford Mustang) still holds the top spot in the championship points race.
