Texas Motor Speedway has been known to heat up rivalries on track and now the world-class motorsports facility is bringing the art of “mano y mano” to the “No Limits” Garage Party presented by WinStar World Casino on April 14 prior to the Samsung Mobile 500.
USA Sumo, Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) and athletes from the World’s Strongest Man are all on the agenda for the upcoming “No Limits” Garage Party presented by WinStar World Casino, an exclusive event for Texas Motor Speedway season ticket and PSL holders beginning at 1:30 p.m. CT on NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race day. Since debuting in 2010, the event has continuously brought an array of highly entertaining acts to prelude each of Texas Motor Speedway’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races.
In the upcoming “No Limits” Garage Party presented by WinStar World Casino, guests can watch competitors from the United States, Mongolia, Russia and Tonga in four 45-minute shows on sumo education and training, and a round-robin match demonstration. The athletes range from 350 to 430 pounds and compete internationally in various sumo competitions.
In addition to sumo wrestling, the event will feature 10 MMA bouts and four 45-minute World’s Strongest Man matches. The World’s Strongest Man, founded in 1977, is a series of unique and amazing tests of strength for men around the planet. Pulling vehicles, lifting logs overhead, tossing kegs and lifting Atlas stones ranging from 95 to 140 pounds each are just a few of the events shown during competition. During the “No Limits” Garage Party, however, athletes will dead lift a 3,400-pound NASCAR Sprint Cup Series stock car.
Guests at the “No Limits” Garage Party presented by WinStar World Casino that want to test their own skills can do so at the event’s inflatable sumo wrestling station. Those that want to take the challenge can be transformed into gigantic wrestlers by being outfitted with a sumo suit - topknot wig and all.
But the event isn’t all about muscles, as the “No Limits” Garage Party presented by WinStar World Casino will again feature live entertainment such including a concert by 80s cover band sensation The Spazmatics, roaming acts, driver appearances and a WinStar World Casino gaming tent.
New to the “No Limits” Garage Party presented by WinStar World Casino is an array of unique gourmet food trucks featuring everything from Korean tacos and Vietnamese sandwiches to bratwurst, barbeque and New York deli-style fare. Drink specials include a happy-hour session on beer and margaritas from 1:30–2:30 p.m., and Levy Restaurants’ signature “No Limits” Fuel that can be ordered “high octane” (alcoholic) or “unleaded” (non-alcoholic) and is served in an authentic “No Limits” mason jar.
Fans also have the chance to win a 2012 Chevrolet Camaro courtesy of Brookshire’s – the Official Grocery Store of Texas Motor Speedway. Fans can text “Brookshires” to 63767 beginning Wednesday of race week (April 11) at 7 a.m. for a chance to be one of six qualifiers to win the vehicle. The chosen entrant must be on Texas Motor Speedway property at 3:05 p.m. on Samsung Mobile 500 race day and answer their phone when the qualifying call is made. The chosen entrant will be rushed to the “No Limits” Garage Party stage and participate in a “key-off” to find out who will take home a shiny red 2012 Chevrolet Camaro.
Season-ticket packages start as low as $270, a savings of up to 25 percent over buying tickets individually, and can be purchased by calling the Texas Motor Speedway ticket office at (817) 215-8500 or visiting www.texasmotorspeedway.com.
