Texas Motor Speedway will get a double dose of nighttime NASCAR Nationwide Series racing this season as the O'Reilly Auto Parts Challenge race on Nov. 3 will move from an early midday slot to a 6:30 p.m. CT start time.
The O'Reilly Auto Parts Challenge is the second of three races during November's NASCAR tripleheader weekend. The weekend kicks off with the WinStar World Casino 350 Camping World Truck Series race on Friday, Nov. 2, with a race start of 7 p.m. The weekend is capped off with the eighth race in the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup, the AAA Texas 500, on Sunday, Nov. 4, scheduled for 2 p.m.
Texas Motor Speedway's season officially gets underway with April's Samsung Mobile 500 weekend. For the second consecutive season, the Sprint Cup and Nationwide Series will compete under the lights with the O'Reilly Auto Parts 300 on Friday, April 13, scheduled for 7:30 p.m., followed by the Samsung Mobile 500 on Saturday, April 14, at 6:30 p.m.
The summer portion of Texas Motor Speedway's schedule includes an INDYCAR/NASCAR doubleheader weekend with the WinStar World Casino 400 Camping World Truck Series race Friday, June 8, at 8 p.m. The weekend culminates with the IZOD IndyCar Series, which returns to its original, single-race format (228 laps, 342 miles) after switching to a twin format in 2011. "America's Original Nighttime IndyCar Race," the Firestone 550 on Saturday, June 9, is scheduled for 7 p.m.
