Jailbreak Race Events To Host Third Annual Grub Run At Texas Motor Speedway

by TMS Webmaster | Nov 16, 2011

North Texas runners can shed some calories to make room for their big Thanksgiving dinner by participating in Jailbreak Race Events' Grub Run at Texas Motor Speedway on November 24 at 8 a.m.

Runners will be staged on Texas Motor Speedway's pit road, run a lap around the 1.5-mile speedway, complete a pit stop consisting of various physical activities, and then run a second lap to complete the 5k event.

The Grub Run is in its third year overall and second at Texas Motor Speedway. Each year the event has drawn nearly 1,500 runners from North Texas.

Jailbreak Race Events is encouraging all runners to bring five canned food items to donate to the Tarrant Area Food Bank with the goal of raising a total of 15,000 cans of food. Last year the Grub Run collected enough food to fill a 20-foot storage pod for Christian Community Action of Denton.

Jailbreak Race Events hosts several other runs throughout the year not only in Dallas/Fort Worth, but also in Austin, Houston and South Padre Island. The popular Jailbreak DFW, 3.1-mile course with 16 muddy, challenging obstacles, has been known to draw up to 10,000 runners.

Registration for the event is $5. More information can be found by visiting www.willrunforgrub.com.
