FORT WORTH, Texas (November 10, 2011) - The Texas Motor Speedway No Limits Garage Party Presented by WinStar World Casino has showcased a variety of entertainment since debuting in November of 2010, but nothing was more daunting than creating the footprint for the marquee event prior to Sunday's AAA Texas 500 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race.
In approximately 12 hours, Texas Motor Speedway transformed the NASCAR Nationwide Series LiftMaster Garage into a bull riding arena for a professional competition by Stockyards Championship Rodeo. As soon as the team haulers departed the garage following the conclusion of Saturday's O'Reilly Auto Parts Challenge Nationwide Series race, 632,000 pounds of dirt was dumped into the garage area to begin the process of building a 100x100 bull riding arena at around 5 p.m. CT.
Roughly 100 people worked on the set-up and by 5 a.m. Sunday, nearly all the elements were in place to provide some unique entertainment for Texas Motor Speedway season-ticket holders that have free access to the No Limits Garage Party presented by WinStar World Casino.
Thanks to time-lapse photography by Getty Images, one can watch the fascinating transformation of the garage into a bull riding arena that featured 50 bull riders and 60 head of cattle. One also can see the trapeze artists performing above the arena on the garage rooftop that was part of the day's entertainment.
