Speedway Children’s Charities is making a difference in our community, one organization at a time. Focusing on children and their needs, Speedway Children’s Charities has helped 1.8 million children since the organization began 14 years ago. “That’s enough to fill the Texas Motor Speedway grandstands 13 times,” said Jaime Carlin, Executive Director of Speedway Children’s Charities at Texas Motor Speedway.
Speedway Children’s Charities is a non-profit foundation that raises funds through events primarily surrounding the race weekends at Texas Motor Speedway and at other times throughout the year. They award grants to organizations that are making a difference in the lives of North Texas children who are in social, financial, educational or medical need.
Tuesday, June 21, Speedway Children’s Charities launched a much-needed transportation initiative through Catholic Charities Dioceses of Fort Worth. A project that was six months in the making finally came to fruition and will impact children’s lives for years to come! Catholic Charities Diocese of Fort Worth held a key exchange ceremony where Speedway Children’s Charities handed over the keys to four multi-use buses. Twenty children ranging in ages from 6-11 took the inaugural trip on their educational field trip! The buses will be multi-functional and be used for things such as field trips, to help parents with job training and even to take children to necessary medical appointments.
This is just one example of how Speedway Children’s Charities impacts the lives of children in North Texas. For more information about how you can be involved with Speedway Children’s Charities at Texas Motor Speedway, please click here.
