For some NASCAR Sprint Cup drivers, racing on Sunday just isn’t enough. It takes two races in one event weekend to satisfy the need for high-speed, adrenaline-rushing auto racing. Two wins in the same event weekend is an amazing accomplishment at any track, but especially at Texas Motor Speedway where no driver has ever conquered the feat.

Texas Motor Speedway President Eddie Gossage is in the midst of a 3,500-mile motorcycle trek from the Pacific Northwest to the East Coast over the course of 10 days as part of Kyle Petty’s Chick-Fil-A “Charity Ride Across America.” The ride, in its 15th year, is an annual effort to raise awareness and funds for the Victory Junction Gang Camp and other children’s charities.

FONTANA, Calif.—Matt Kenseth is making up for lost time.

Winless in 2008, Kenseth backed up his victory in the season-opening Daytona 500 by holding off Jeff Gordon in Sunday’s Auto Club 500 at Auto Club Speedway.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla.—It wasn’t the thrilling finish fans have come to expect from the Daytona 500—except to Matt Kenseth.

Fans can tune into KRLD-105.3 FM “The Fan” Friday from 12 – 3 p.m. CT (1 – 4 p.m. ET) to listen to Sean Salisbury and Newy Scruggs broadcasting live from Daytona International Speedway with the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series season kicking off with Sunday’s Daytona 500. Guests scheduled for the special edition of the show include 2004 Sprint Cup Series champion Kurt Busch, 2003 Sprint Cup champion Matt Kenseth, team owner Richard Childress and NASCAR Nationwide Series driver Brendan Gaughan.
