FORT WORTH, Texas (June 9, 2009) – The number three has long been associated with IndyCar Series star Helio Castroneves, who drives the No. 3 entry for Team Penske. But this year, more than ever, the number has taken on a whole new meaning for the 34-year-old Brazilian driver.

Texas Motor Speedway President Eddie Gossage received numerous compliments from fans about the speedway’s unique format for the Bombardier Learjet 550k pre-race introductions with the IndyCar Series drivers. Rather than the traditional introduction on the stage, the IndyCar drivers come down the steps in 24 sections of the frontstretch grandstands.

NBA superstar Shaquille O'Neal made his IndyCar Series debut Saturday night at Texas Motor Speedway. The 15-time all-star and Phoenix Suns center is serving as the Grand Marshal for the Bombardier Learjet 550k race at 8:30 p.m. tonight.

The setup change for Franchitti's No. 10 Energizer led him to the pole position for Saturday night's race. Franchitti, who earned his seventh career pole, earned a lap speed of 214.513 mph.

Four of the new Cowboys Stadiums could fit comfortably inside the massive motorsports venue, which has a seating capacity of 138,122 and a total estimated capacity of 191,122.

Three-time Indianapolis 500 winner Helio Castroneves has become a favorite among Texas Motor Speedway race fans who have been able to parlay his success into outstanding ticket bargains for the Bombardier Learjet 550k IndyCar Series race on June 6.
