For the fifth consecutive year, Kyle Busch will compete in all three NASCAR national series races during the Dickies 500 triple-header weekend. Busch will get his weekend started by piloting the No. 51 entry for Billy Ballew Motorsports in the WinStar World Casino 350k NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race.
Busch has dominated the truck series statistically at Texas Motor Speedway, but does not have a win to show for all that success. In six career starts at TMS, Busch has four top-three finishes, including three runner-up finishes during his four most recent starts.
“Things have gone well recently,” said Busch, who had one of those runner-up finishes in this event last season. “I’ve sort of learned how to drive it a little bit better and know what I need in my race car to make it easier. I can’t get past second place in the trucks so we are going to try to change that.”
Busch has come close to capturing the elusive sweep at Texas Motor Speedway. Last fall was his closest as he led 87 laps and finished runner-up in the Chevy Silverado 350k truck series race, earned his second consecutive victory in the O’Reilly Challenge Nationwide Series race and concluded the weekend with a sixth-place finish in the Dickies 500 Sprint Cup Series race.
