FORT WORTH, Texas (March 30, 2009) – Foreigner’s Mick Jones and Kelly Hansen traded in their band gear for a couple of fire suits and helmets Monday to experience NASCAR full throttle at Texas Motor Speedway.

MARTINSVILLE, Va.—On the 25th anniversary of Rick Hendrick’s first NASCAR Sprint Cup win as a car owner, it was more of the same for Hendrick and Jimmie Johnson.
 
An aggressive pass of Denny Hamlin on Lap 485 of the Goody’s Fast Pain Relief 500 gave Johnson the lead Sunday at Martinsville Speedway, and he pulled away to beat Hamlin by .774 seconds. The victory was Johnson’s first of the season and the 41st of his career; he now has six wins at Martinsville—five in the past six races. It was Hendrick’s 18th win at the .526-mile track.

CONCORD, N.C. – Ryan Newman had such high hopes for his Stewart-Haas Racing team’s first year that the first four weeks of the 2009 season weren’t easy.

Sam Bass, NASCAR’s most recognizable artist, will reward fans that purchase tickets or merchandise Friday, April 3, during the Samsung 500 weekend. Any customer that purchases $25 or more worth of race tickets at the TMS Ticket Office or merchandise at the Speedway World Gift Shop will receive a Texas Motor Speedway race program cover poster designed by Bass that he will personally sign while supplies last.

You couldn’t blame Kyle Busch for believing Bristol Motor Speedway owed him a win in NASCAR’s Sprint Cup Series.

After all, the driver of the No. 18 Toyota led 415 of 500 laps last August, only to finish second.

Busch didn’t wait for the .533-mile short track to take its time paying him back. Instead, he seized control of Sunday’s Food City 500, leading 378 laps en route to his second victory of the season.

FORT WORTH, Texas – Four-time World Wrestling Entertainment champion John Cena plays a New Orleans police detective in his new movie, “12 Rounds,” but on Wednesday at Texas Motor Speedway he found himself  in the role of a Roanoke, Texas police officer to promote the March 27 premiere.
