The last time the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series took to the track on April 21 at Kansas Speedway, Plano, Texas, native James Buescher hoisted the checkered flag in celebration. Buescher scored his first career NASCAR Camping World Truck Series victory, snapping a 75-race winless streak.

Winner of the last three races (Barber, Long Beach, Sao Paulo, respectively), he sits atop the championship standings with a 45-point advantage over teammate Helio Castroneves and isn't concerned with the long layoff.

Novo Nordisk Chip Ganassi Racing's Charlie Kimball gave the Ganassi organization and Honda a session sweep of the fastest laps during Monday's IZOD IndyCar Series open test at Texas Motor Speedway.
Kimball ran a lap of 211.330 miles per hour in the No. 83 Novo Nordisk Honda to take the top honors in the afternoon session and second overall to Target Chip Ganassi's Scott Dixon. Dixon (No. 9 Target Honda), who was second to Kimball in the afternoon at 211.330 mph , was the only driver on the day to surpass 212 mph with his morning-session lap of 212.371 mph.

FORT WORTH, Texas (May 7, 2012) - Former Formula One star Rubens Barrichello had his IZOD IndyCar Series rookie oval test at Texas Motor Speedway postponed on Sunday night, but it didn't discourage him from running laps at the world-class motorsports venue anyway.
"I can see how much I was so excited because I slept last night thinking about today was going to happen," Barrichello said. "I woke up on the other side of the bed so I was already ovaling in my dreams. So it was a good experience for me when I got going here (on track)."

FORT WORTH, Texas (May 7, 2012) - Target Chip Ganassi Racing's Scott Dixon posted the fastest lap of the morning session during Monday's IZOD IndyCar Series open test at Texas Motor Speedway.
Dixon ran a lap of 212.371 miles per hour in the No. 9 Target Honda among the 42 he ran during the session. His lap was more than two miles per hour faster than the next closest among the 10 of the 11 drivers that took to the 1.5-mile oval.

Forget about Times Square, the New Year’s ball dropped on James Buescher right smack in the middle of America’s Heartland: Kansas City, Kan. The countdown started at 3, three weeks ago in Martinsville when Buescher finished third in the Kroger 250. It dropped to 2, two weeks ago in Rockingham with the second place finish. Then the long awaited moment, the countdown reached 1, finally the winner of a Camping World Truck Series race as he strolled into victory lane in the SPF 250 at the Kansas Speedway. Three straight weeks, 3-2-1 and 2012 has certainly turned into a Happy New Year for the Plano, Texas native. “It’s definitely been great,” said Buescher of the new season. “I’ve been running NASCAR races since 2008 and to finally get some wins going, hopefully we can continue this.”

Five-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion Jimmie Johnson walked away with a runner-up finish in Saturday night's Samsung Mobile 500 for the fifth time in 18 appearances at Texas Motor Speedway. Johnson's fifth runner-up performance is the most second-place finishes by a Sprint Cup Series driver, passing Matt Kenseth's four runner-up finishes.
